Swooda

Swooda is a design studio in Zagreb that works on interiors and objects. We gave it a wordmark built from circles, a palette taken from stone and a website.

A sandstone room carved like a cave, with an arched window, a long stone counter and shelves of small dark bottles.

01 · The Result

A Wordmark ThatBelongs In A Room.

The identity borrows from what the studio builds: raw stone, soft light and simple geometry. The circle in the name returns in the type, the print and the photography.
  • A stack of pale and rust-coloured stone slabs against linen, with a round inset photograph of a rough stone block.
  • A curved stone counter in a plaster room with arched niches holding small ceramic and glass pieces, and the Swooda wordmark in white at the bottom.
  • A round window onto pale wooden shelves holding small clay objects, set on a plain off-white ground.
  • Stacked slabs of pale stone in front of linen curtains, with a round inset photograph of a rough stone edge.

02 · What They Asked For

Mindful Spaces,Made With Care.

Swooda is a design studio in Zagreb. It works across interior architecture and product design, and it describes its practice as eco-conscious and built on timeless principles.
The brief was a new identity and a website that could speak for the work before a client walks into a project. We drew the wordmark, the palette and the stationery, then built the site around the studio's own photographs.

03 · What We Found

The Work Is Quiet. The Brand Should Be, Too.

An interior practice sells calm, and a loud brand would undo it. The identity had to be sure of itself with very little: one wordmark, a short list of earth tones and plenty of empty space.

04 · What We Built, In Order

An Identity, Then A SiteThat Carries It.

The identity came first. Print and web were drawn from the same circle.
  1. 01

    Wordmark

Two large circles inside black squares from the Swooda wordmark, set on a diagonal over fine construction lines on pale grey.

The two Os of the name become circles held inside squares, drawn and checked on a construction grid.

  2. 02

    Stationery

A sheet printed with the Swooda wordmark, contact details, the line Designing Sustainable Environments and a black half-circle shape.

A sheet system that repeats the wordmark, a vertical lockup and a black half-circle.

  3. 03

    Palette

Colour swatches in charcoal, rust brown, pale sage and off-white, with the values printed on the sage block.

Colours taken from the materials: charcoal, clay, sage and bone.

  4. 04

    Website

A website home page with a small Swooda logo and a menu above the wordmark at full width, and two interior photographs below.

A white page with the wordmark set large across the top, and the studio's interiors below.

Two round photographs on a black ground: a close view of layered pale stone and a wall of small lit timber blocks.

05 · The One Decision

The CircleDoes The Work.

Round crops frame each material photograph. The shape comes from the wordmark, so the images and the name read as one system.

06 · What This Taught Us

Let One ShapeReturn.

A small identity works when one idea comes back. For Swooda that idea is the circle: first in the name, then in the photography and the layout.
Restraint needs a rule to stay consistent. One shape gives a small team a rule they can follow on paper, in photographs and on the web.
